The ASCII Art Ensemble appeared on events and in shows since 1998 in Amsterdam, Karlsruhe, Vienna, Riga, Bologna and Kassel. Wenn the ASCII Art Ensemble was launched, Josephine Bosma wrote an interview for Telepolis, followed by several other publications.

- Vuk Cosic had a solo exhibiton in Ljubljana. 'ASCII history of art'
- at 'net_condition, starring Andreas Schiffler (Esc to Begin). Exhibition from 22 september 1999 - 17 march 2000. There was an appearance of the ASCII Art Ensemble founders at the theLounge on 17 december.
- Alexej Shulgin and Walter van der Cruijsen appeared on salon-digital with multiple ASCII and other codebased net.art De Balie Amsterdam 1999.
